Mastering the Moment- Spring 2022

Mastering the Moment- 1st of 8 in a Series Exploring a Mindfulness Approach to Unwanted Habits

  • Tuesdays in Spring 2022, dates to be determined

  • 5:30 PM 7 PM

  • Online via Zoom

Mastering the Moment is a unique 60 day process of changing our relationship to an unwanted habit using a mindfulness-like approach.

In this workshop, participants will…

  • Explore the circumstances, emotional triggers, and behaviors around their habit

  • Create a way to pause after being triggered

  • Address their underlying needs that come up around that habit

  • Increase their tolerance of discomfort

  • Expand the moment between being triggered and acting by adding in positive habits

  • Learn how to acknowledge and celebrate successes

  • Begin to integrate the parts of ourselves that are wanting to engage in the habit and parts that are motivated toward our ultimate goals

Participants will work through the Mastering the Moment workbook on their own at home and meet 1.5 hours a week online for instruction, guided exercises, and facilitated discussion.

This 8 week series meets every Tuesday 5:30pm-7pm. Specific dates to be announced. Participants will attempt about 10 minutes a day of working through the Mastering the Moment workbook at home between the weeks in order to create the most effective outcome for participants.

The cost of the series is based on what you can pay between $160-$280 ($20-$35 a week) and includes the workbook. Space is limited and registration requires prepayment in full. The workshops will be held live online. Click here to register.

The instructor, Tara Renee Breitenbucher, is a licensed professional counselor and owner of Imagine A Path, counseling and workshops for inner and interpersonal growth. She has a holistic psychotherapy practice for individuals and couples in Bend, Oregon.

NOTE: Although she is a psychotherapist, and working through this process will very likely be therapeutic, the purpose of this series is not to provide therapy. This series is also in no way medical advice, and is not meant to replace professional help. If you are addressing a severe substance addiction, this approach can be used as an adjunct to other supportive programs specifically addressing that substance. If you’re addressing a habit involving any addictive substance, you are strongly encouraged to consult a medical professional, as it can be physically dangerous to alter the intake of some biochemically altering substances.
